A Friendly Guide to Skincare
March 23, 2025A Total Skin Transformation with 9 Lasers at LAMICHE Dermatology
Hey there! I’m just your average 30-something working gal from LA, and I recently made a trip to LAMICHE Dermatology in Seoul, Korea, to tackle some skin issues I’ve been stressing over. Honestly, I’ve always been hesitant about dermatology visits, but my acne scars and sagging skin finally pushed me to take the plunge. After getting 9 different laser treatments and injections at LAMICHE, I can confidently say it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Here’s my story – I’ll keep it real and throw in some moments I think you’ll totally relate to!
Booking and First Impressions – Off to a Great Start
Since LAMICHE requires reservations, I checked out their website (drlamiche.com) beforehand. You can book through the site, WhatsApp, Google Forms, or email, which was super convenient. I went with WhatsApp and got a quick response – bonus points since they replied in English, making it a breeze for someone like me coming from LA.
When I arrived at the LAMICHE building in Jamsil, Seoul, I headed up to the 7th floor. The lobby was sleek and modern, and the staff at the information desk welcomed me warmly. After checking in, they sent me down to the 5th floor to get some skin analysis photos taken with this machine called Janus. Let me tell you, seeing my skin up close on that screen was a little embarrassing (anyone else get shy during skin scans?). But it was so helpful to really understand what was going on with my face.
Consultation with Dr. Joo – Instant Trust
After the photos, I went back up to the 7th floor for my consultation with Dr. Joo. He was like that kind, patient teacher you had in school – super approachable and great at explaining things. He broke down why I had acne scars, what was causing my skin to lose elasticity, and which treatments would help. For acne scars, he recommended Fraxel Dual, Neobeam DRT, Affirm, and Mirajet. For anti-aging and lifting, he suggested Ulthera, Thermage, and Inmode. He also threw in Rejuran and Botox injections as extras.
The consultation lasted about 40 minutes, and by the end, I felt like I totally got what my skin needed. Dr. Joo’s confidence and clarity made me think, “Okay, I’m in good hands here.” Afterward, I met with a coordinator – and get this, they had an English-speaking staff member! It was such a relief. According to the Q&A on LAMICHE’s site, they’re well-equipped for international patients, and I can vouch for that.
I decided on all 9 treatments, and to my surprise, they threw in extra laser shots and Botox for free! That kind of perk isn’t something you see every day in LA, so I was pretty impressed.
The Treatment Process – My Honest Take
There was a 40-minute wait before the treatment started, which I expected since LAMICHE is so popular. It’s clearly a spot people trust, so I didn’t mind. They took me to Room 7 on the 6th floor, where I lay down on a comfy bed. First up was skin prep and blackhead extraction – and wow, that part stung! It felt like someone was squeezing my face by hand, and I almost teared up (blackhead removal pain – we’ve all been there, right?). But I powered through for the sake of beauty.
Then the lasers kicked in. Here’s my rundown of the 9 treatments I got:
Fraxel Dual: Famous for acne scars – it stung a bit, but totally doable. It works deep in the skin to fade those marks.
Neobeam: A little more intense with the prickling, but I was excited since it’s great for acne scars too.
Affirm: Good for skin renewal – there was a slight warm sensation, and the pain was medium-level.
Mirajet: The gentlest of the acne treatments. It delivers meds into your skin, so barely any discomfort.
Ulthera Lifting: A lifting laser that uses ultrasound – it was a sharp sting, but I could feel my jawline tightening right away. Worth it!
Thermage Lifting: This one had a strong heat sensation. My face felt warm, and it hurt a bit, but I could handle it.
Inmode: Boosts skin firmness – I felt tighter right after, and the pain was moderate.
Rejuran: A skin-healing injection – slight needle prick, but it settled fast and left my skin hydrated.
Botox: Got it on my forehead and crow’s feet – barely felt it, and my wrinkles smoothed out naturally.
Each laser felt different, which was kind of cool. Most were fine, but Ulthera and Thermage packed a punch. Still, I toughed it out for the glow-up. The whole process took about 3 hours, and when it was over, my face was red and tingly. The nurse applied a calming cream and said, “It’ll settle by tomorrow,” which was super reassuring.
The Results – My Skin’s Never Looked Better!
Back in LA, my face was still red and prickly the first day, and I was a little worried. But a week later, my acne scars started fading, and my jawline looked sharper – thank you, Fraxel Dual and Ulthera! By two weeks, my skin tone was brighter, and it felt so smooth, like glass skin vibes. I kept staring in the mirror thinking, “Is this really me?” (that confidence boost when your skin finally cooperates – you know the feeling!)
LAMICHE’s Q&A mentions that results really kick in after 1-2 weeks, and they weren’t kidding. The acne scars softened up thanks to Fraxel and Affirm, while Ulthera and Thermage sculpted my jawline, making my face look slimmer. Rejuran added that dewy glow, and my makeup’s been going on like a dream ever since.
LAMICHE – I’m Sold!
LAMICHE Dermatology blew me away with their top-notch facility, friendly staff, and amazing results. Tackling both acne scars and anti-aging in one go with 9 treatments was a game-changer. Flying from LA to Seoul was 100% worth it, and I’m already planning my next visit. If you’ve got skin woes, book a slot and go for it – you won’t regret it!
